The Ethiopian Independent Media Foundation (EIMF) was established by 22 founding members on February 5, 2008.

Vision:

Vision of EIMF is to foster exchange of ideas through free and responsible media as Ethiopians struggle to bring about democratic governance.  In addition to sharing a myriad of information with the public, a responsible independent media would constantly and accurately bring to the fore issues related to respect for the law and human rights of individuals, and accountability of office holders when any such basic principles are violated in any part of the country.


Mission:

The mission of EIMF is to build an institutional legacy that foster the idea of leadership and responsibility in the media sector and become a credible source of information and a channel for public dialogue. The guiding principles of the EIMF are the sharing of balanced, objective and accurate information without prejudice to any cultural, religious or ethnic grouping.
